"I'm okay!" he said with a smile and pulled the hem down again with a nervous chuckle. "It'll go away sooner or later."

"preferbly sooner rather then later." Kiya said with a smile. "What is the saying um... time heals all injuries? I dont say wounds cause there are some that dont heal." She said slowly.

"You're right about that."
For a minute Ivan forgot all about where he was and as he looked up towards the sky he imagined he was back in his village just before he left. He imagined the wooden houses that looked broken down and the people that were trying to scurry their children inside so they wouldn't lay eyes on the "demon's child". A few of the sluttier girls looked unto him with an impressed expression, probably yammering to themselves which would get him in bed first, despite the fact everyone else seemed to fear him. He remembered getting on horseback and taking one last look at his mother sadly before leaving, although she was glaring daggers at him and practically screaming at him to leave. The road never looked so long from that point.

Kiya looked to Ivan, he looked so deep in thought she almost hated to disturb him, "Piastre for your thoughts?" She asked quietly.
(Piastre is egyptian money)

"Nothing important." he answered from his own little dream world. "Just a flashback to what my village looked like before I left."

"Very cold," he answered. "The people dressed in clothes barely thick enough to keep them really warm. Women wearing as little as possible lining the streets, blood always tainting the snow in some alleyways. Not a very happy place."

"Why would women wear as little as possible? Wouldnt they freeze to death?" Kiya asked confused. "Why put themselves though that?"

Ivan shook his head and said "They find men to keep them warm. As to why they do that, it's to earn enough money to eat. Not everyone has a job you know."

"Oh," Kiya said quietly. She was used to people making and growing what they needed to live if they didnt have a job. Money wasnt a big thing in her village.
"Exactly how cold is it there?" She asked.

"Right now?" he asked and then closed his eyes for a second to try and calculate just how much further north his village was. "I'd say about fifty below centigrate."

"Well its offical," Kiya said with a nod. "Im going to freeze to death if I ever go there." She said simply.
"After all if Im freezing here." She said with a shrug and a smile.

"That's not true." he said and wrapped his arms around her. "After all, you have me to keep you warm..."

Kiya closed her eyes and leant lightly into Ivan a slight purr escaping from her throat, "Just promise you wont let me freeze," She whispered softly.
