Ivan walked out onto the balcony that gave a wonderful view of the snowy white Bulgarian mountians, the very image reminding him of just how cruel and cold life could be and yet how beautiful it looked to others who did not live it. Snow began to fall, the soft, white flakes intermingling with his sliver hair and dark turtleneck. Yet another reminder of his village.
He then reached out to catch a few of the flakes on the palm of his glove coated hand, his breath becoming a small cloud of steam as it left his warm body to meet the cold night air. "Mother..." he whispered as the flakes spelled out something in his hand, something that the small things only did for those who could read the pattern of their descent from the heavens.

Kiya stood in the door way to the balconies not wanting wanting to disturb Ivan. She wrapped her robes and coat around her the best she could but she was still freezing as she watched the snow fall. Looking to Ivan she wondered how the snow flakes in his hand could make him think of his mother.

Tears filled his eyes and his knees instantly felt weak. the snow brought him ill tidings. -Mother is dead.- the snow spelled out. -Vampire's doing. Uncle vanquished her, then commited suicide.- The salt laced water at that pont, fell as he looked out over the mountians, a soft sob leaving him. Everything he had just cared for back home had been swept away. "please... "he whispered. "...no..."

Suddenly the cold meant nothing, Kiya could freeze to death and she didnt care as she saw and heard Ivan's sobs. She walked over to him quickly placing one arm comfortingly around his shoulders the best she could with the height difference while with her other hand she absentmindedly touched the eye of Horus on the necklace Ivan had made for her.
"Why are you so saddenly my love?" She whispered ever so gently.

Finally Ivan's knees buckled and the gentle young man fell to the stone balcony, hugging himself tightly for comfort. "Mother, and uncle...." he whsipered, his tears now flowing like streams down his lean cheeks. "They're gone...."

Kiya sighed sadly, she knew his family hadnt been the best but loosing them all the same was hard, she rubbed his back gently trying to comfort him but knew it wasnt an easy thing to do, she just wanted to be there for him remembering what it was like to loose family.

"A vampire killed my mother, turned her into one of them." he whispered, his head bowed in shame. The Sercofksy family was not one that such demons were meant to taste the blood of. "My uncle slew her, then killed himself... All I ever had is lost!"

Kiya didnt know what to say, he had lost everything, "I am sorry." She said quietly, she wondered if he wanted to be left alone.

The young Russian grabbed a hold of Kiya and sobbed quietly into her clothes, happy memories from before his hair changed to this silver colour and his metal weilding power appeared flooding his mind. "..."

Kiya held him close as he cried, tears began to form in her own eyes, but she blinked they back furiously. It hurt her so badly to see him sad but he certainly did not need that, not now. "It will be ok," She said softly as she hugged him close.

"Thank God you are here Kiya," he whispered, trying to stop weeping. "I might not be able to continue if it weren't for you...."

Kiya pulled back so she could look Ivan in the eyes, her warm brown eyes were slightly glazed over with tears, she kissed his cheeks softly kissing away his tears,
"No matter what, you shall always have me." She whispered gently.

Ivan nodded and smiled, trying to forget what he had just discovered. It was in vain. He got to his feet and looked out onto the mountians again, the mountians that his village rested on the other side of. "My mom once loved me more than life itself." he said quietly. "Uncle did to. They were my best friends in the world, I could tell them anything if i needed to."

Kiya realised at that moment and was glad that at least one time in Ivan's life he had been happy. She held his hand in both of hers lacing her fingers though his, She didnt know what to say.
She knew she had no idea how he felt as she had never had that soft of relationship with anyone ever, except him.
"Im sure, deep down she still did."

The silver haired man chuckled. "Yeah and vampires can go to heaven."
Ivan then turned around and leaned back against the railing, the cold stone coming up to the small of his back as his grey eyes watched the snow that still fell. "If she still loved me then why did she lock me up? Why did she make me survive off of the garbage she gave me to look through when I was in there for months at a time as punishment for somthing i didn't do? Do real mothers do that to their children?"
