Ivan sighed as he walked out onto the school grounds of Durmstrang towards the waterfall he had heard earlier on his way to class. The breeze bit at his lean cheeks and tousled his silver hair, but he said nothing about it. All he cared about was finding somewhere to relax.
Eventually he found his way through the trees to the large body of water and once there he pulled a packet of cigarettes out of his pocket. "Crap." he muttered, leaning against a tree and lighting the cancer stick. "Why did I even bother coming here?"

Kiya was sitting near the water fall wrapped up in thick warm robes. They same she had to wear during the cold desert nights back home.
She sighed as she saw a older guy approaching and watched silently, when he asked the question to no one she answered quietly, "I dont know, but maybe you can make the best of it." She said with a shrug.

Ivan took a long drag of the cigarette and then then exhaled the smoke while holding the herb between his fingers. "Just who are you?" he said angrily. He was so not in a good mood.

"Well look who got up on the wrong side of the sand this morning." Kiya said shaking her head at how angry he sounded, *but he is cute* Kiya thought to herself with a smile.
She stood and up and offer her hand to shake his, "Im Kiya Sati, a new student here."

Ivan shifted the cigarette to his left hand and shook hers. "Ivan Sercofsky. I'm sorry for being rude, but I am not in a very good mood." He muttered and took another drag of the nicotine. "Mother just sent me a piece of mail saying she hopes I either stay in Bulgaria or freeze to death in the process. Talk about being a kind parent."

"That would definately put me in a bad mood." Kiya said with a nod.
"But you could look at it a different way, you have an open life now, you dont have to go back there, you could go anywhere you want. Even though my parents are dead, I still have to go home." Kiya said with a shrug.

Ivan shrugged. "Like I would want to go back there. People think I'm a demon or somethign because of my hair and this special thing I can do." The cigarette once again met his lips, but this time he left it there.

"Your kidding?" Kiya asked laughing, "Im sorry, its just were Im from, the stranger you look and being able to do special things gets you treated like royalty." Kiya said finally stoped laugh.
She rubbed her eyes as tears had formed as she laughed, with most people the make-up around her eyes would have come off but with Kiya it was perminantly tattooed there.

"Clearly you don't understand." he said and took the chain off his belt that he usually kept attached to a wallet. However, he left his wallet in his room this time. "I can do this."
With one hand he dangled the metal and with the other he made a motion for the material to become a sphere. The links melted but stayed stationary in the air as they followed the command and became a sphere.
"This is a power of the devil, I was told." he said

Kiya became serious as she saw the metal melt into a sphere with a small smile, "Well whoever told you that was completely wrong." Kiya said simply.
"Anyone can do that if they master the right spell, but the fact you dont need to just makes you special, not a demon." Kiya reasoned.
"You should be proud of your gift."

The sphere then became a dagger and rested gently in the palm of his hand. "It's not just chains however. I can manipulate the iron in a person's body and/or anything else with metal in it." he told her, taking the cigarette from his mouth again for a minute. "It also didn't help that fact that my hair became entirely silver at eighteen."

"Well I dont care, your just not evil." Kiya said definately, "Well at least not to me." she added with a nod.
Kiya knelt down and drew some symbols on the ground and they glowed slightly before disappearing, the next moment snow began to drift down from the dark clouds in the sky, "Im probably guessing, if I came from where you do Id be treated differently too."

"Of course." he said and then shifted his leather jacket. The snow always made him nostaglic for some reason and he did not want that to start while in the company of another. "You don't even remotely look Korean."

"Im not, Im egyptian. It was a hypothetical." Kiya explained. She then noticed he looked slightly uncomfortable, "I can make it stop if you want me to." Kiya said quickly.

The half-asian sighed. "Nah, that's okay." he said, dropping his finished cigarette into the white powder gathering around his feet and crushing it. "I don't mind." The steel grey of his eyes softened a little from their normally cold espression and he hugged himself gently.
